SmartSolo used by the Seismology Bureau of Shanghai
Contributing to the essential data necessary for a new ground motion zoning and earthquake disaster risk map of Shanghai

Contributing to the essential data necessary for a new ground motion zoning and earthquake disaster risk map of Shanghai, SmartSolo have carried out a dense array short period seismograph observation. The project is part of a detailed 3D investigation of the subsurface structures, to assist with implementation of strong ground motion computer simulations. A total of 4805 stations were deployed, with 1021 high priority key stations, and the remaining 3784 as more conventional receivers across the area being studied. The equipment layout and observations were all completed between 2nd March and 22nd April. Amongst the deployed instruments on this data acquisition, there were 1200 SmartSolo IGU-16HR 3C short period intelligent geophone units. The SmartSolo team are very pleased to be part of this forward-looking urban safety strategy.
